the documentation should point out somewhere that you need a pop3
compliant server running on the server you wish to get mail off, does
mail.socs run such a service? and no it isnt a firewall, i just
suspect that mail.socs isnt running a pop server.. if you do want
documentation on firewalls try having a look at http://www.iwi.com/
(it may have recently moved tho).
