RE: [ProgSoc] mailing list software
I've been using mailman for quite a while (www.list.org) and it comes with
Pipermail for web-based archives. All you need is a web server that can run
python as a CGI and its reasonably easy to install. Most of the management
is done through web pages (except for actually creating/deleting lists,
etc). However, it doesn't have very exceptional MIME support - MHonArc is
better for this for web archives because it saves MIME attachments as files
rather than displaying the actual encoded text.
I've never used majordomo much before so I can't comment but I know that
others have had trouble getting it installed properly.
