Here I was thinking I had a really clever, hack proof logging system, when it occured to me - those dastardly hackers could just burn the printer by crafting a clever message causing it to jam, and getting the print head hot enough to ignite the paper dust that invariably forms on dot matrix machines. There is a reason for the 'printer on fire' message from the linux kernel.
Someone said something about a serial line? Why not have that transporting the logs to an isolated system rather than a printer?
