Re: [ProgSoc] Network-controlled Spinny Things

They have these at jaycar if anyone wants to pick one up. For the more
peaceful progsoccer, perhaps we should get a squadron of these:
http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=GH1044&CATID=&keywords=usb&SPECIAL=&form=KEYWORD&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID=

on the topic of usb, does anyone know where one can get a usb mini-A
to mini-B adapter? preferably with no or very short cable. Or even
mini-B to mini-B, but I suspect they are even rarer.

Dear Progsoc,

In keeping with the understated trend of having network-controlled
things that spin in the room, I strongly suggest we get a small squadron
of these: http://www.pccasegear.com.au/prod3843.htm

A linux control has been developed at
http://scott.weston.id.au/software/pymissile-20060126/ and I expect the
society to get behind the todo list by integrating the control in some
way to the webcam. It's python so it couldn't be too difficult.
Really. (Besides the whole hacking axis firmware thing)
