Subject: UTSpeaks: Beatings without Bruises

We hope you can join us for the first lecture in the 2010 UTSpeaks
public lecture series, Beatings Without Bruises, introduced by Dr
Antony Kidman, Director UTS Health Psychology Unit.

With cyber-bullying on the rise, how will we safeguard our children's
mental health and wellbeing?

Presented by senior researchers from the UTS Health Psychology Unit,
this lecture will unravel the facts about cyber-bullying. It debunks
media stereotypes of perpetrators and victims, lays bare its costs to
individuals and communities and offers practical pathways for
solutions and healing.

About the presenters: Dr Rachael C. Murrihy is a senior clinical
psychologist and research associate specialising in adolescent mental
health; Megan Varlow is a clinical and health psychologist who has
conducted large-scale research programs investigating cyber bullying
and stress literacy in adolescents.
