one of the best "magic number" i know, is a TCP socket open on port 6660-9.
its too easy for someone to compile up their own client to avoid these
"magic number(s)". if you are going to use "magic numbers" in the text
segment of the process, the best way to do this would be to get the inode
for the process and grep that inode for said "magic number(s)"
