TFM Production meeting

As I've been burdened with this thing, I'm going to spread the work to
as many people as possible...

Just what is being done/has been done? If it's not finished *NOW* then
I don't want it - that can be in volume 2. Anyone who has finished their
sections should tell me as soon as humanly possible (this doesn't apply
to all contributors :)

FYI: TFM will be in two volumes this year -

*Volume I* (the stuff we've actually done): Introductory stuff which isn't
found elsewhere. Our main audience is the 1st Year students, who will be
given a copy of the UNIX workbook'95. Other customers can have this
bundled with their copy of TFM for no extra charge. (Limited Tour Souvenir
edition...) Also, SoCS tutorial sheet material is going to be culled -
that means the modem chapter is *out*, as are ftp/telnet. Mail is probably
out as well - there's a sheet for that, and for Pine. The only tricky
stuff for mail readers can be considered 'difficult' and therefore part of

*Volume II* (the stuff *nobody* does): /bin/sh; other shell stuff; twm;
intense X stuff etc. [this has less in it, but will probably be the same
size].

btw, anyone seen Tom?
