At the moment both are being accepted.
The return address on outgoing mail appears as <user>@nospam.progsoc.uts.edu.au.

Mail addressed to ftoomsh.socs.uts.edu.au will work for the moment although
it will take a round-about path. Try to use this as little as possible.

We rely on socs' DNS so that would be a question for sbg.
