The easiest way to find out something like this is to find the page
where you saw the cool 3D purple bullets, and do a View|Source (in
netscape anyway), and see just how it has been done there. Apply
this method to any cool thing you see on the web.

On the other hand, if you dont know HTML and are building your page
with some HTML tool then go out and learn HTML. Its really a very
simple language. (Perhaps it should be in TFM if its not already, and
NO, I'm not going to write it). Somebody here can probably point you
(or your browser) to a HTML tutorial.

Must be. People seem to take a while to get it right.

More than difficult. Impossible. The dialog is controlled by the browser. If
it displays a dialog box its because it wants to, not because you tell it
to. Perhaps I misunderstand you though. I dont know what you mean by a
"generic" mailto link.

I have found vi does the best job. Learn HTML and use your favourite
text editor.
