What are you talking about!?!?

Do you realise how LITTLE an SMTP transfer is compared to an (illustreated)
web page transfer?

Two pages of plaintext mail would occupy around 1k to 2k. A two page
illustrated HTTP document would be upwards of 50k to 100k or maybe more.

In other words, duplication of replies by progsoc has NO EFFECT on net traffic
considering that the majority of those dupes are generated internally on
progsoc.

Does anyone have any figures on SMTP traffic as compared to HTTP and NNTP
traffic? Am I right in what I said above? (I consider myself a senior newbie,
a long way from starting my guru apprenticeship).

Josh.
