While I disagree with some of your stances on smoking, I have to agree
your sentiments on addictions. I would go so far as to say that you
will be hard pressed to find a person not addicted to something.
Caffeine, sugar, alcohol, power, endorphins (released from exercise,
sex, cheese, writing lists, or plenty of other things). Life goes on.

Perhaps not to nicotine. I would argue they are addicted to the
experience of smoking while have a beer/coffee/chat with friends/etc.
