Thanks. I'd managed to put that together post facto. So, yes, I've been 
using SXCE, but not a recent build it would seem.

Perfect. A cursory look last night had suggested that it wasn't possible 
to setup a SPARC install server from an x86 box. I guess that's what you 
get for believing what you find on the internets.

Unfortunately, I'd neglected to mention that the x86 Solaris box was 
also broken. Shouldn't be too hard to get an x86 Solaris box operational 
though, and I think that's what I'll do.
