HTTP didn't modify its behaviour based on its own previous state, you
modified its behaviour by changing the state. The protocol simply
responds what the state of the URL you requested is, this is like a
thermometer reporting the temperature, it doesn't tell you what the
state was before or that the state has changed, only reports the current
state.
